, the celebration of 10 years anniversary of Gostomel shelter for stray animals was a success. Preparations began early in the morning (although the
preparations started long time before, for sure) after first volunteers arrived. Short afterwards came Asia Serpinskaya with other volunteers in kind of reinforcement; spruce colorful garland of balloons was delivered and hung... Everyone grasped something to do because daily activities had to be completed earlier that day. One of most pleasant businesses (although far not the easiest one) was placing the
in the outdoor cages. Guests were arriving in the meantime, they expressed their greetings to Asia Serpinskaya and presented her with flowers and portraits of shelter animals made with great artistic aid specially for this occasion. Those who desired took pictures with nicely decorated shelter building at the background. At about noon employees and volunteers finally tore themselves away from their businesses and took the chance to rest in the shadow of a willow; to talk to each other and to the guests; to drink some soda and taste the holiday cake. Everyone agreed that the celebration enjoyed a very friendly, even family, atmosphere.

– The visitors granted the shelter with 1644 UAH for the anniversary. Some of them received T-shirts, cups, pens or bags in return. And someone generous and modest exceled and put one thousand UAH at once in the moneybox, GREAT THANKS!
I enjoyed the celebration very much. Everything was so sweet, like a family, and Asia looked so pretty! (Nadya)
– Lots of impressions from the visit, you fully realize just after you've been there how much animals feel better in shelters (then on a street - animalprotect) and how important are those. Everything that this site says: guaranteed meals, and a personal dwelling nook, and none of those endless urban dangers from human-like monsters and traffic, and fresh air, and a sincere sympathy of even if not too numerous but real animal protection activists, – this all is here in Gostomel shelter, and it's amazing !!!

– It was made out well with these anniversary celebrations! There were not that many (new) guests but everything came out really cosy, without ceremony. Everyone was busy with something, everyone had something to see. Olia and me were entrusted to feed the puppies. Currently there are about 20 puppies of various age in the shelter (those 2-3 months old were just brought here, they were so hungry, terribly). But two of them were adopted on Saturday already.
The impresseions are very best, lots of rapture, even more positive news. Thanks to the shelter that it exists! Happy birthday once again !! (Lera)
