The need for new dogs' kennels arises periodically. Wooden kennels get exposed to not only rain and snow outdoors but also to playful impact of teeth and claws of the inhabitants. They can give the construction pretty hard time just for fun. Despite of the fact kennels get treated with used crankcase oil and one installes them onto a pallet and covers with slates or even sheet iron, once every several years they require replacement anyway. The last large renovation happened in winter 2007-2008. The kennels were build by inexperienced people that time and unfortunately did not last long.
Due to kind support of Wereldasielen (Netherlands) 200 new kennels at once were built in early summer 2010! This allows to renew the major part of entire "housing facilities" at one stroke. A powersaw bench next to the shelter got the order in May. This co-location effects significant saving on the transportation. Valery Shmatok handed over the drawings and the work got in full swing. A portion of kennels was built before the 10 years anniversary of the shelter. On June 12 employees and volunteers placed new kennels in outdoor cages. The rest will be finished and placed as soon as ready.
We hope that due to Valery's systematic inspections of the construction process and professional skills of the carpenters new kennels turn out to be high quality and last many years.
